OZARK COMMUNITY – Dovie Wayne Kitchens, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. She was born November 28, 1928, in Itawamba County to Kennie and Stella Castleberry Hale. She worked at Mantachie Manufacturing and Hunter Saddler for many years. She was a member of the Gilmore Methodist Church and attended until her health failed her. She belonged to the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and taking care of children. She was a special lady who loved everyone and will be greatly missed. Heaven gained another precious angel.
Services will be Saturday, February 25 at 2 P.M. at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie with Brother Douglas Kitchens and Brother Barry Kitchens officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery.
Survivors include one brother, Charles "Bill" Hale (Judy) of Overland Park, Kansas; a special nephew and caregiver, Randy Hale (Lisa) of Ozark; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a special caregiver and friend she loved, Deborah Hendrix.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaddis Kitchens; one daughter, Phyllis Kitchens; six brothers: J.C. Hale, Roy Hale, Jerry Hale, Billy Hale, Harold Hale, LaVonne Hale; three sisters: Maedell Crawley, Della Jean Bledsoe, and Mitzi Woodrow; and her parents.
Pallbearers will be Randy Hale, Corey Hale, Brent Hale, Terry Kitchens, Rickey Hendrix, and Tim McClung.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
