Julia Ann Sanderson Hamilton, 87, of Vardaman answered the call on Friday, April 21, 2023, to her heavenly home when she heard them ringing those golden bells at Baptist Memorial Hosptial in Calhoun City, MS. She was born June 16,1935, in Vardaman to the late Ray Sanderson and Ruth Spratlin Sanderson.
Julia Ann spent many seasons of life as minister of music at Vardaman FBC from 1935-1997. She spent her time leading, teaching, and singing. She is now singing in the heavenly choir in her mansion over the hilltop. She loved BIG to everyone that she came in contact with. Julia Ann enjoyed being in the kitchen making her homemade rolls that she was known for making ans she shared them with her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing when she wasn't singing. Julia Ann was a devoted member of First Baptist Church Vardaman. She was love driven and spirit led. Well done thy good and faithful servant!
She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her abscence, four sons: James "Jimbo" (Gwendolyn) Hamilton of New Hope, MS; Jerry (Melody) Hamilton of Vardaman, MS; Jeff (Cindy) Hamilton of Vardaman, MS; Joey (Connie) Hamilton of Bruce, MS; brother, Winfred "Bud" (Kathryn) Sanderson of New Hope, MS; eight grandchildren: Mariah (Mike) Frantz, Erica (Alan) Lewis, Emily (David) Moss, Jennifer (Matt) Greer, Nicola (Thomas) Maibom, Josh (Caitlin) Hamilton, Adam (Kathleen) Hamilton, and Jenna Beth Hamilton. She also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren.
Julia Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Fred Hamilton; parents, Ray Sanderson and Ruth Spratlin Sanderson.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Vardaman. The funeral service celebrating Julia Ann's life will take place on Monday, April 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Vardaman with her son, Bro. Joey Hamilton officiating. Mike Frantz, Matt Greer, Adam Hamilton, Josh Hamilton, Alan Lewis, Phil Lucius, David Moss, and Mark Sanderson will carry Julia Ann to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery.
