Linda McCluskey Haire

Linda McCluskey Haire, 72, of Pittsboro, departed from this life on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born on July 17, 1950 in Slate Springs, MS to the late Lee McCluskey and Lela Belle Bailey McCluskey.

Linda was a graduate of Calhoun City High School class of '68. She was an avid basketball player. She played basketball for the Northwest Rangers. Linda spent many seasons of life as a loan officer for USDA until her retirement after 22 years. She enjoyed playing bunko with her friends. Linda loved living at her home and working in her yard. She loved knick-knacks and shopping and she left it all to her son that has no idea what to do with it. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, tin punching, gardening, decorating, and raising her puppies. She was former Worthy Matron for the Eastern Star and Rainbow Mom. Linda was a member of the Calhoun County Republican Women. She was a devoted church member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir, she loved doing church work. Although Linda has departed from our presence, she has gone to rest in a place free of sickness.

Linda leaves behind her son, John Patrick (Donna) Buchanan of Saltillo, MS; stepson, Jeffery Haire of Pontotoc; five grandchildren: Seth Buchanan, Andy Buchanan, Caleb Haire, Cohen Haire, and Cylee Haire.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordie Lee Haire, Jr.; parents, Lee McCluskey and Lela Belle Baily McCluskey; two sons: Cody Lee Buchanan and Zackery Andrew Buchanan; two sisters: Nancy Mccluskey and Barbara Morgan.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. The funeral service honoring Linda's life will take place on April 28, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Sam Yarbrough officiating. Michael Brasher, Whit Casey, Jarrad Collins, Steve Curtis, Wayne Mayhan, Josh Morgan, Derreck Taylor, and Calvin White will carry Linda to rest in Bethany Cemetery.
