FULTON – Odis William Thomas, 94, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory after a brief illness. He was born December 14, 1928, in Itawamba County to Fines and Virdie Adams Thomas. He retired from American Motors after more than 30 years of service. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, while serving in the United States Army. He enjoyed working outdoors, fishing, and hunting.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 17, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Minister Chris Long officiating. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Eva Olene Pierce Thomas; one brother, Owen Thomas (Hazel) of Tupelo; a daughter-in-law, Renee Thomas; a son-in-law, John Barnes; two grandchildren, Ryan Thomas and Aaron Thomas; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Darryl Ray Thomas; two daughters, Deborah Barnes and Lisa Carol Nichols; a granddaughter, Kerri Nichols; two sisters, Jewel Moore and Mildred Cockrell; and his parents.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
