Bill died May 25, 2023 at Iuka Hospital. He was born August 8, 1945 in Alcorn Co. MS to the late Rubel and Bernice Whitehurst Haynie. He was a active member of Clear Creek Church of Christ. He was employed as a millwright for many years, retiring from Intex Plastic. Bill was a proud father and husband who loved his children. He was a lover of the dust of the earth from which he came; he was an avid farmer who loved growing vegetables and setting up at “The Farmers Market”. His specialty was different tomatoes. Need a smile from Bill, just mention his tomato patch; his customers came back year after year to buy his tomatoes and always left satisfied with their purchase. His faithful follower was his spaniel pup “Checkers” that made every step he made.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Sumner Wayne Haynie; sister, Ann Driver; brother-in-law, Lanny Monroe; and great nephew, Seth Driver.
He is survived by his wife, Bricky Haynie; son, Russell Haynie; brother, Jerry Haynie (Janice); brother-in-law, Jimmy Driver; nephews, Sammy Driver and Jeremy Haynie (Christina); several great nieces; a great nephew; and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Karey Burcham, Jerry Grimes, Simmie Phillips, Iver Vandiver, Benny Haynie and Mickey Haynie.
