Patricia Ann Fauver

March 13, 1947 – May 29, 2023

Patricia Ann Busby Fauver, 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, at NMMC after a brief illness.

"Pat" was born March 13, 1947, in Chickasaw County. After living in several states due to her step-father's job, her family settled in the Hurricane community in 1963. Pat attended Hurricane High School, where she played basketball under the tutelage of Coach Zane Hale. She graduated from there in 1965, after being selected for the Lady's All-State team in her senior year. After high school, she attended Ole Miss. In 1970, she married the love of her life and moved to Virginia to fulfill his military obligations. Upon completion, they returned to Pontotoc to join his family's shoe business. Pat jumped right in at Progressive Shoe Store and took it to new heights. She began shipping shoes to prior college graduates who had moved on to bigger cities and preferred our shoes. She began the mail order portion of the store and turned the business into a world-famous entity. In 1988, she was chosen as one of the top ten working women in Pontotoc for her work with the Chamber of Commerce and other organizations to reestablish downtown's economics and to promote business in the downtown area. After retirement from the shoe store, she began Schuyler Naomi Home Designs, making high end decorative pillows,but had to stop due to her health. Pat was a very active Mimi and adored any time that she got to spend with her grandchildren, especially playing games. Pat loved playing games, reading, shopping, traveling, listening to any genre of music, and being in charge of whatever she might be doing.

Pat is survived by her two sons, Tim (Tammy/TayTay); and Buck(Tammy), both of Pontotoc; two brothers, John Busby of Duncanville, AL; and James(Marcia) Busby of Hurricane; one sister, Liz Vandiver(Tony) of Prattsville, AL; three nephews and one niece; three grandsons, Don II, Jacob, and Zach Fauver, all of Pontotoc; three granddaughters, Nikki(Charlie) Smith and Katie Fauver of Pontotoc; and Shanna Fauver of Wheeler, two great grandsons, Josh and Kyle, and two great granddaughters, Ophelia and Southern.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Opal Earline Prestage Busby, her father, Robert Turner, and her soulmate, Don Fauver.

A memorial service will be held on Satuday, June 3, with visitation beginning at 2 pm and service beginning at 5 pm. Browning Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
