Vic “Smiley” Mitchell

A service to celebrate the life of Vic “Smiley” Mitchell, 62, will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Tuscumbia Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Tuscumbia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5pm until 8pm and from 1pm until service time on Thursday, all at the church. Bro. Rodney Whittemore will officiate the service.

“Smiley”, affectionately known by his friends and family, passed away on Monday May 29, 2023 at his residence. He was born on July 27, 1960 to Audrey Lee and Elizabeth Jean Grubbs Mitchell. He attended school at Kossuth High School and in 1979 joined the U.S. National Guard. He was employed with Wurlitzer until he became disabled. He was a member of Tuscumbia Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Jean Mitchell; brother, Michael Dewayne Mitchell, Sr. (Shelia); sister, Patty Bradley (Stanley); niece, Audrey Comer (Cody); nephew, Michael Dewayne Mitchell, Jr. (Candace); great-niece and nephews, Kyleigh Mitchell, Hagen Comer and Karter Mitchell and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Audrey Lee Mitchell.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Tutor, Tim Tutor, Chad Grubbs, Jason Grubbs, Randy Wilson and Justin Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will be his great-niece and nephews; Kyleigh, Hagen and Karter.
