Jimmy Dale Herring
Guntown- Jimmy Dale Herring, 76, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023 at the Sanctuary Hospice House. As a lifelong resident of Guntown, he strived to ensure that he left this world a better place. He was a retired businessman and owner of Herring Auto Sales, Inc. and Quik Mart convenience store for many years. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He married the love of his life and step-mother to his children, Nan, on October 29, 2011 after a 20 year courtship. Jimmy Dale was a faithful member of Guntown First Baptist Church, as long as his health permitted him to attend. He enjoyed Nascar races, working and spending time with his grandchildren.
Celebration of Life services will be held at Waters Funeral Home, Friday June 30, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. with Bro. Bobby Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Nan Herring of Guntown; daughter, Amanda Teem (Mark) of Saltillo; son, Chris Herring of Guntown; step-son, Walt Roddy (Teri) of Madison, MS; Sister-in-laws, JoAnn Herring and Johnnie Herring both of Guntown; four grandchildren; two great-children; host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Bonnie Owens Herring; brothers, E. E. “Tapper” Herring and Robert Herring; sisters, Johnnie Wheat and Maxine Danielson.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Tapp, Jason McKay, Mark White, Sam Mitchell, Jerry Wayne Whitehead and Dave Danielson.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces, nephews, Tommy Rock and George Ellis.
Visitation will be at at Waters Funeral Home Friday from 11:00 a. m. until service at 2:00 p. m.
