Dawn Alicia Baldwin – Baldwyn, MS
Dawn passed away at her daughter’s home on June 26th, 2023. She left her children with so much understanding and preparation for what all must face. She was born on March 20th, 1955, to R.W. and Sybil Laird. She was one of 8 children. Dawn was full of love, kindness and understanding. She had no idea how many lives she touched just by simply being herself. She always showed her children to be kind and love everyone. She enjoyed reading, being outdoors, and music. Her love for all music was passed down to her children. She was surrounded by music everyday while living with her daughter. She loved to hear her children sing and play along with her family and friends.
She is survived by her 3 beautiful children, James “Jimbo” Milton Smith, Jr., Angela Rene’ Reno, and Reuben “Ben” Lee Smith (Julie) and their father James “Smitty” Smith and wife Cindy. 7 grandchildren; Bronson, Skylar and Elijah Smith, Trey and Casey Reno, and Christian and Matthew Collis. 1 great grandson Jimmy Matthew Reno, 1 sister Virginia “Dilly” Sandefer, 3 brothers John, Daniel and Robert Laird, and many special nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, R.W. and Sybil Laird; siblings, Reuben Laird, Kitty Jordan and Janis Robinson; a nephew Edward Gillenwater; and her children’s grandparents James and Mae Smith and their aunt, Faye Cochran.
A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, July 1st, 2023, at the Marietta Community Center at Mineral Springs/Park in Marietta, MS at 3:00pm.
