Mr. Waller was born on February 7, 1931, in Lafayette County, MS, to the late Inez Briscoe and Ralph Earnest Waller. A graduate of Taylor High School, he continued his education at The University of Mississippi earning his Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Corporal in Germany during the Korean War as a Military Intelligence Specialist, Mr. Waller worked as the warehouse manager for General Generic Drug Company until his retirement. After retiring, he began working at the local Walmart, holding many different positions and finding great fulfillment in his daily interactions with co-workers and customers alike. He was a previous member of Clear Creek Baptist Church and current member of First Baptist Church of Oxford, always placing his faith in God throughout his life. When he had time to escape for a family vacation, he always chose the Great Smoky Mountains. This area of Tennessee became like a home away from home to Mr. Waller and his wife, Nancy, and he found himself drawn back year after year. After Nancy passed, he couldn’t bring himself to return without her, but held tight to all the wonderful memories they had made there together. Mr. Waller joined the Friends of the Smokies foundation, in an effort to help preserve the park he loved so much. His love for nature inspired him to pick up a hobby in photography, with a keen eye for capturing the beauty around him. In his free time, he found great joy in woodworking and various projects in his shop. Most of all, Mr. Waller’s world turned around the love of his life, Nancy. Together they raised five perfect children, providing them with the best example of a loving marriage and family. Mr. Waller gave all credit to God for this, never taking for granted his many blessings in life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his dear wife, Nancy Evelyn Ruth.
Mr. Waller is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Parkin and her husband, Jim of Paris, MS, Donna Hitchcock of Steens, MS, and Virginia Davis and her husband, Wally of Gulf Breeze, FL; sons, Gary Waller and his wife, Kim of Louisville, KY and Ronald Waller and his wife, Deborah of Madison, MS; his sister, Mary Lee Waller and her husband, Don of Oxford, MS; 14 grandchildren, Logan, Michael, Jacob, Jamie, Scott, Heather, Presley, Travis, Brent, Anna, Phillip, David, Nathan, and Matthew; and 20 great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Dillon, Ava, Zoe, Robby, Olivia Kate, Eleanor, Jacob Henry “J.H.”, Emmaline, Isabella, Genna, Julian, Kaden, Grayson, Landon, Christian, Henleigh, Lilly, Ledger, Luke, Beckett, Cooper, Lainey, and Hunter.
