Emma Nell Jordan

Emma Nell Jordan of Vardaman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born on June 30, 1945, to loving parents whose values she carried with her throughout her life.

Emma led a fulfilling and joyous life, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. As a devoted wife to Walter Jordan, she found immense happiness in their enduring partnership, celebrating over five decades of love, laughter, and shared experiences.

Emma will also be remembered for her love of animals, particularly her cherished companion Polly the Parrot and her dog Little Man. Emma retired from Kellwood as a seamstress.

Emma found solace in the simple joys of life, whether it was working outside, embracing nature, or exploring new destinations through her travels. Her vibrant spirit and zest for life endeared her to all who knew her.

Emma is survived by husband of 62 years Walter Jordan; sons: Ronald (Tracie) Jordan, of Vardaman, MS and Terry (Jay) Jordan, of Olive Branch MS; daughters: Lisa (David) Poynor, of Big Creek, MS and Melinda Clanton, of Calhoun City, MS; sisters: Joyce (Sue) Odum, of Vardaman, MS and  Sandra (Danny) Tedder, of Vardaman, MS; brother Jerry (Becky) Mitchell, of Bruce, MS; grandchildren: Christy (Tim) Griffin, Kayla Poynor, Emiley (Casey) Lancaster, Austin Jordan, Crystal (Shane) Porter, T.J. (Heather) Clanton, Blake Logan, and Jake Weldon; great-grandchildren: Taylor (Joseph) Boudreaux, Macie Collums, Lijah Griffin, Alyssa Sansing, Jasper Crocker, Brenden Lancaster, Stanley Jordan, Ryan Jordan, Levi Jordan, Tucker Weldon, Abbie Weldon, Dustin Logan, Addison Jordan, Cody Porter, McKenzie Engle, Brylee Porter, Matthew Clanton, and Alex Sartin.

Emma is preceded in death by her parents Emery and Mable Mitchell; brothers: Vernell Mitchell and Billy Mitchell; sister Betty J. Mitchell and great granddaughter Jo Ellen Lancaster.

The family of Emma Jordan invites friends, relatives, and loved ones to join them in a public viewing at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, Vardaman on October 30, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Following the viewing, a funeral service will be held in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman at 3:00 PM with Bro. Jimmy Vance officiating.

Emma will be laid to rest in her final resting place at New Liberty Cemetery. Kenny Clanton, Tim Griffin, Stanley Jordon, Casey Lancaster, Shane Porter and Jake Weldon will serve as pallbearers. Emma's great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
