Larry "Burger" David Bailey, 64, of Vardaman, departed from this life on Monday, November 21, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born on February 16, 1959, in Vardaman to the late Jake Bailey and Sarah Greene Bailey.
"Burger" grew up in Vardaman; he graduated from Vardaman High School in 1977. After graduating he farmed for many years. "Burger" worked for Calhoun County with District 5 for 29 years from which he retired. "Burger" loved to be with people and making them smile. Always had a smile on his face. When he wasn't working "Burger" could found socializing at the Ram Shack in Vardaman. He attended New Providence Baptist Church. "Burger" is in heaven right now making someone laugh, or driving a new truck.
He leaves behind his sister, Lib (Danny) Massey of Bruce; nephew, Chad Massey of Bruce; two great nieces, Bailey (Kameron) Massey of Laurel; Breana Massey of Blue Mountain; great-great niece, Tatum Voge, the one that could make "Burger" smile. He also leaves behind two special friends, Christy Cross and Jordan Crawford.
"Burger" is preceded in death by his parents, Jake Bailey and Sarah Greene Bailey.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman. The service honoring Larry's life will take place on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman. Burial will follow in Loyd Cemetery. Perry Bailey, Justin Cross, D.J. Dugard, Pearlie Dyess, R.M. England, Andy Landreth, Shane Langford, and Tony Morgan will serve as pallbearers. Calhoun County Supervisors and Road Hands will serve as honorary pallbearers.
