Tracy Martin James

Mr. Tracy Martin James, 61, died Thursday, November 30, 2023, at his home in Pope, MS. The memorial service will be Monday, December 4, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Mr. Ed Lambert and Mr. Billy Grantham officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon.

Tracy was born on June 24, 1962, in Memphis, TN, to the late Henry and Diane James. A graduate of The University of Mississippi, he worked as a civil engineer. He was active enthusiast of theater, having been in various plays and programs, and had a lifelong appreciation of the art. He also enjoyed cheering on his alma mater, Ole Miss, and playing golf with friends. Tracy had a love for the outdoors, collecting guns and bows to hunt with. Early mornings in the woods brought him great peace, regardless of the outcome of the hunt, he knew no time was wasted. Tracy was a loving, devoted father to his daughters, who provided him with the greatest joy and purpose in life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara M. James.

Tracy is survived by his daughters, Nikki Chrestman and her husband, Ryan, of Byhalia, MS and Kayla Carmon and her husband, Devon, of Olive Branch, MS; and his brothers, Todd James of Olive Branch, MS, Tim James of Southaven, MS, and Ty James of Olive Branch, MS.
