Leah Marie Hebert

March 26, 1978 – December 28, 2023

FULTON – Leah Marie Hebert, 45, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023, at her home following an extended illness. She was born on Easter Sunday morning, March 26, 1978, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Howard Frank and Jan Cooley Hebert. Leah was a 1996 graduate of Elsie Robertson High School in Lancaster, Texas, where she was a member of her high school band and played tennis and soccer. Leah graduated with a double major in English and philosophy from the University of Mississippi. She was an educator for over a decade, most of which was spent with the Rankin County School District. She inspired students to think deeply and critically about a text and relate it to life. She also inspired other teachers to hone their craft. Administration recognized her excellence in the classroom when she was named the 2018 Brandon High School Teacher of the Year. She was pursuing her master's in educational leadership at Mississippi College hoping to support her students and fellow teachers on a broader basis. She enjoyed reading and writing poetry and was a published author.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, December 30, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Roland Hebert and Bro. Danny Oswalt officiating. Burial will be in the Dorsey Memorial Cemetery.
