Pearl “Christine” Neeley Orsborn McCarver went to her Heavenly home on June 29, 2024. Christine loved cooking for others, crocheting, listening to the Gaithers and in her later years, enjoyed coloring. She also loved collecting beautiful things and was known for her extensive music box collection. In her early years, she was the original owner of North Auburn Grocery and owner-operator of the Lake Lee Drive Inn dairy bar in Saltillo. She retired from North Mississippi Medical Center. Christine was a member of South Green Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Patsy Rhodes (Jerry), her daughter-in-law, Vel Orsborn, step-children Tommy McCarver (Terri) and Joy Deason (Doug), grandchildren Gaye Orsborn, Cherry Orsborn, Kandy Walker (Rodney), Loal “Bear” Orsborn (Angie), Amy Moody (Michael), Jill Griewisch (Brant), step-grandchildren Donna Davis (Terrell), Charlene Gannon (Mike), Drew Deason, Rachel Comeskey (Ben), Kayla Bryant (Stephen), Allison Long (Ben) and Bailey Anderson (Austin), great-grandchildren Will Lamons (Jennifer), Ashlie Campbell (Eric), Samuel Moody, Sarah Grace Moody and Sophia Smith, numerous step-great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, her sister, Arlene Grissom (Joe) and her sister-in-law Sue Neeley.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and children’s father, Loal Orsborn, her later husband, William “Bill” McCarver, her son, Wayne Orsborn, step-granddaughter, Angy Abner, her parents, Alex and Myrtle (Ryan) Neeley, her brothers, Alex Neeley Jr., Charles Neeley (Jimmie) and Jimmy Neeley and a sister, Louise Wesson (Lawrence).
Christine was a resident of Union County Health and Rehabilitation during her final years, and the family would like to thank the staff and residents there for their love and care for her.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024 at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn, MS with Pastor Stanley Huddleston officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
