Dustin was born on December 16, 1983, in Tupelo, MS and grew up in Tylertown, MS. Even as a child, he was athletic and active and could always be found outdoors. Dustin attended Tylertown High School where he played football and baseball. In 2002, he was nominated by his teachers and was selected by his peers and the student body as “Mr. T.H.S.”. This recognition came as no surprise to his family as they had witnessed throughout his life that he was a true gentle spirit and just simply a kind hearted person. His servant’s heart meant that he was always seeking out ways to show kindness to others and make sure those around him felt included and special. Following high school, he attended Ole Miss where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation as a way to translate his passion for the outdoors and physical activity into a skill. Passing along his love for adventure, he made sure his daughter fell in love with the outdoors from an early age. He and Layla could often be found hiking and fishing. Dustin also found great solace in sleeping under the stars and enjoyed his many camping adventures. Dustin was a faithful Ole Miss Rebel and rarely missed attending or watching basketball or football games. His faith in the Lord was a vital part of his daily life. He was a longtime member of Tylertown Baptist Church and most recently attended Crosswind Ministry Church. Dustin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dot and Bill Denton and Claude and Ida Marie Poole.

Dustin is survived by his wife, Keri Hale Denton of Ramer, TN; his daughter, Layla Elizabeth Hale of Ramer, TN; his parents, Walter and Vickie Denton of Tylertown, MS; a sister, Raney Denton Guerrero and her husband, Joseph of Portsmouth, VA; a brother, Peyton Warren Denton and his wife, Kaila of Wesson, MS; nieces and nephews, William Guerrero, Hylan Beau Denton and Hadleigh Reeves Denton; aunts and uncles, Donna Palmertree, Cindy and Michael Misita, Bill and Ellen Poole and Tracye and Dan Gunderson as well as many beloved cousins and friends.
