Alice Monica Chron

Alice Monica Chron passed away peacefully on August 18, 2023, at age 97, surrounded by family. She had fallen at her home in Streamwood, IL a few days prior and broken her ribs and never recovered from her injuries.  She was very tired and ready to go be with the Lord.

Services will be Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 10:00 am at Itawamba Memorial Cemetery in Fulton, MS, followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Holiday Inn Express, in Fulton.

Alice Monica Chron was born to Melrose (Stone) Townley and Bruce Erie Townley on August 11, 1926, in Tremont, Mississippi. Alice was the eldest of their three children, her brother was Duane Stone Townley and sister Juanita Townley.

Alice graduated from Tremont High school in Tremont, MS in 1944.  She then moved to Memphis, TN where she attended a junior college for 2 years. Alice met William (Bill) Robert Chron Jr. while living in Memphis, TN and later married the love of her life the same year on Sept 23,1945. They had 4 children, William Robert (Bob) Chron III, Bruce Allen Chron, Rhonda Juanita Chron and Richard (Rick) Lee Chron.  They had 9 Grandkids, 21Great Grandkids and 1 Great, Great, Grandchild.  Bill and Alice shared almost 50 wonderful years together. Alice worked almost 60 years and except for working in a Dr’s office in Charleston, Missouri as the office manager for 2 years the remainder of her time was in the hotel/hospitality industry as a bookkeeper.  She moved to IL about 2004 to live with her son Bruce and wife Gail Chron where she lived the remainder of her years. She loved to travel to visit her daughter Rhonda and her family in Slidell, Louisiana and son Rick and his family in McKinney, Texas.  Alice’s passion was spending time with her family, reading romance novels, and putting puzzles together.

Bob and Karen Sue (Robbin’s) Chron married on November 21, 1975, and had 2 children Damon Scott Chron and James Nicholas (Nick) Chron. Damon and Kassee Marie Simmons married on July 31, 1999, and had one child, William Robert Chron IV. Damon later married Melissa Margaret VanDyke on November 14, 2015.  Damon is in the process of adopting Dylan Matthew Dyar.  William married Coral Alexis (Jade) Chron on February 22, 2023, and have a daughter, Lillian Mae Chron.

Nicholas (Nick) has 2 Children, Stormy Marie Nelson, and Kaylee Nicole Chron. Nick married Dana (Ailer) Chron on 7/20/14 and is stepfather to Emry Ann Ailer.

Bruce and Anita Joan (Alvarez) Chron married on December 6, 1975, and had one daughter, Heather Ann Chron. Heather and Jeff Bernard married on July 14, 2001, and had 2 boys William Jeffrey Bernard and Tristan James Bernard. Bruce later married Gail Chron in June 1989.

Rhonda has two daughters, Destiny Michelle Lach, and Dakota Nicole Nyquist. Destiny Michelle Lach and Michael Maricich married on May 12, 2007, and have two daughters, Kenadie Neaveh Maricich and Londyn Skyy Maricich.

Dakota Nicole Nyquist & Ryan Rene Jackson Married June 7, 2014, and have 2 boys, Braylon Paul and Brenden Robert and a daughter Bayler Rene. Rhonda later married Larry Kenneth Kennedy on March 20, 2004, who had 2 children Katrina Marie Kennedy and Kenneth Robert (KB) Kennedy. Katrina married James Clayton (Clay) Lifer on December 1, 2003. They have 4 children, Benjamin Stanley Lifer, Madelyn Elise Lifer, Micah Brenten Lifer, and James Weston Lifer.  KB married Lindsey Kay Brewer on April 23, 2016.

Rick and Denine Lynn (Jenkins) Chron married on January 31, 1981, and have a son Kyle Lee Chron and a daughter Ashley Lynn Chron. Kyle and Crystal Renee Kirby married on June 23, 2012, and they have 5 children, Kinzie Renee Chron, Calob Lee Chron, Cole Lee Chron, Cason Lee Chron, and they adopted Crystal’s niece Kaylee Ciana Burke.

Ashley has a daughter Gracie Lynn Chron.

Survivors include, Daughter, Rhonda Kennedy, son-in-law Larry Kennedy and son Rick Chron, daughter-in-law Denine Chron and nine Grandkids and twenty-one Great Grandkids and one Great, Great, Grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Melrose Townley, Bruce Erin Townley, her husband William R. Chron Jr. and two sons William R. Chron III, and Bruce A. Chron, brother, Duane Townley and sister, Juanita (Townley) Baker.

Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of those who knew her as they continue to walk in the light of her example. She will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever guide and inspire her family and friends.
