Shirley Lee Vinson Danford

Mrs. Shirley Lee Vinson Danford, 76, died Saturday, August 10, 2024, at her home in Oxford. The funeral service will be Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Randolph officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 9:30 A.M. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.

Mrs. Danford was born on May 23, 1948, in Viola, CA to the late Garvin and Ann Toy Vinson. She was married for 54 years to Mr. Jesse “Jay” Daniels Danford, III before his death in 2022. Throughout their marriage, they worked together at Southland Body Shop. Together they enjoyed traveling to car shows and relaxing on the occasional cruise. Later in life, they were always on the go in their camper often visiting the beach and Gatlinburg in the summer and always spent Thanksgiving in Nashville. Mrs. Danford loved to get out and shop and often invited her granddaughters along to join. Family traditions were sacred and she found great joy in having all of her family together at her home every Christmas.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Baptist Hospice Team and Shirley’s caretakers, Mia Davis, Lee Booker, Jennifer Baker, Kendra George, Eddie Randolph, Kelly McDowell and Donna Roberts.

Mrs. Danford is survived by her son, Michael Jay Danford and his wife, Elizabeth of Oxford; two sisters, Barbara Vinson Tise and her husband, Johnny of Oxford and Donna Vinson Roberts and her husband, Ronnie of Oakland, MS; three grandchildren, Nichole Jordan and her husband, Tyler of Olive Branch, MS, Courtney Gardner and her husband, Shaun of Pineville, LA and Jordan Danford and her fiancé, Jonathan of Clover, SC and two great granddaughters, Avery and Lilly Jordan.
