Esther Janean Rock

Esther Janean Rock, 60, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born April 29, 1964, to James Benjamin and Minnie Lee Wood Smith. She had been a supervisor at Action Lane and other furniture factories and was an accomplished sewer. She enjoyed watching her kids play sports and playing with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, and she enjoyed cooking for her family.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie. Burial will be in the Plantersville Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Dustin Smith (Amanda) and Michael Rock, Jr., both of Mantachie; one daughter, Kristal Stanley (Jeremy) of Saltillo; the father of her children, Michael Rock, Sr. of Saltillo; a special nephew, Ben Smith of Guntown; four sisters, Brenda Smith and Paula Harris, both of Alabama, and Deborah Wolf of Vicksburg and Diane McIntire of Plantersville; one brother, Danny Smith of Plantersville; nine grandchildren, Alayna Smith, Dustin Smith, Jr., Zackk Redden, Schuylar Redden, Michael “Trae” Rock III, Annacatherine Rock, Harlee Rock, Brycen Stanley, and Avery Stanley; one great grandchild, Tylar Redden; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Benjamin Smith, Charles E. Smith, and Johnny Smith; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Cummings, Tanner Gray, Robert McIntire, Jerry McIntire, Joshua Bolen, and Anthony Buse.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
