James Doug Burleson Herring
Mantachie- James Doug Burleson Herring, 47, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Sanctuary Hospice House. He loved gospel music, coke, sports, playing with trucks and cars and his favorite color was red. He attended and graduated from McDougal Special Needs School and he attended Unity Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at Unity Baptist Church on Saturday, August 24, 2024 @ 2:00 p. m. with Chaplain Kevin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his father, Carol Herring of Mantachie; sisters, Lisa Coggins and Kim Bratton of Mantachie; nieces, Maranda “MaiMai” Jones (Nick), Anna “Ann” Goodin (Blake), Kayla Sheffield and Jennifer Shotts (Cory); nephews, Christopher Lewis (Allison), A.J. Bratton (Abby) and Spencer Bratton; host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Barber Herring; grandparents. Laura “Maw” Herring; Nannie Lou Barber and Rex.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Twin Oaks Group Home in Booneville and Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p. m. at Unity Baptist Church.
