Bradley “Tack” Powell Sheffield, 59, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born January 31, 1965, in Tupelo, to Bobby Gene and Sybil Delois Powell Sheffield. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Peppertown. He was a long-haul truck driver for many years and had been working for Southland Construction for the past nine years. He enjoyed racing stock cars in his earlier years. He loved raising and selling livestock, including, but not limited to, chickens, turkeys, goats, and rabbits.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Mark Tutor officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Hood Sheffield; his father, Bobby Gene Sheffield; one son, Justin Sheffield; four daughters, Jessica Anderson (Bruce), Brandi Tyra (Andy), all of Mantachie, Kellie Renea Sheffield (Rolan Barlow) of Fulton, and Sarah Sheffield (Jared Spigner) of Mantachie; one brother, Kevin Sheffield (Christy) of Mantachie; ten grandchildren, Anthony Upton, Annabelle Smith, Kelton Tyra, Lexi Tyra, Bradley Anderson, Katherine Barlow, Michelle Cole (Tim), Kelsey Leathers (Chauncey), Skyler Anderson, and Dominic Barlow; six great grandchildren, Drew Turner, Noah Anderson, Bradley Cole, Bentley Cole, Rylei Leathers, and Khloe Leathers; a bonus daughter, Haley Young; two sisters-in-law, Jan Loague (Roger) and Pam Scott; his nieces and nephews, Nathan Sheffield, Jordan Sheffield (Brandi), Wesley Loague (Megan), Kayla Loague, Tracy Scott, and Amy Reed (Bo).
He was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Sheffield; and infant brother, Bob, Jr., and an infant sister, Delois Ann; and his mother, Sybil Delois Sheffield.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Sheffield, Jordan Sheffield, Corey Bishop, Steven “Scooter” Wren, Jasper Franks, and Roy Seger.
Honorary pallbearers will be his first cousins, Southland Construction employees, Rudy Rusoe, Darren Johnson, Bradley Smith, Stevie Thompson, Jeff Holt, Craig Smith, and Nathan "Nate Dog" Watts.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from noon until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral home in Mantachie.
