Audrey Lee Fiew

Mrs. Audrey Lee Fiew, 93, died Sunday, September 1, 2024, at her home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will be Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Anchor Baptist Church with Bro. Gerald Shook officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Shipp Cemetery.

Mrs. Fiew was born on November 24, 1930, in Lafayette County, Mississippi, to the late Hugh L.D. and Myrtle Elmorie Pullum Tidwell. She was a longtime and faithful member of Anchor Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. She loved her church family and found great joy in spending time with her children, siblings and grandchildren. Mrs. Fiew formerly worked as a nurse’s aid at The Oxford-Lafayette County Hospital but found her true calling as a babysitter for her many grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Fiew; a son, Ronald Glen Fiew; a sister, Dorothy Young; three brothers, Orr L.D. Tidwell, Ervin Tidwell and Melvin Tidwell; a grandson, Chris Woodard; a granddaughter, Hailey Boggs; a great granddaughter, Gabrielle Wren and a great grandson, Waylon John Wren.

Mrs. Fiew is survived by two daughters, Carol Jean Johnson and her husband, David of Oxford and Janice Gail Wren and her husband, Don of Oxford; a son, Hershell Scott Fiew and his wife, Millie of Water Valley, MS; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Fiew of Abbeville, MS; two sisters, Colista Walls of Oxford and Virginia Colene Briggs of Costa, AZ; a brother, Donald Wayne Tidwell of Oxford; twelve grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
