Charles L. “Charlie” Waters

Charles L. “Charlie” Waters, 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2024. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at The Elison in Oxford, MS.

Charles graduated from Tupelo, Miss. High School and Miss. State University with an Electrical Engineering degree. He enjoyed playing in the Maroon Marching band in Starkville. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and in the National Guard. He was a lifetime member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Charlie was in sales for a number of years and was with a European company for several years in Sales Management. He then joined a manufacturer’s representative company for the remainder of his career. Charles was an avid golfer for his entire life. After he retired, he was a member of the Germantown United Methodist Church in Germantown, Tenn. and a coordinator of the church’s Handy Helpers program with the Older Adult Counsel for more than 20 years, and was dedicated to serve others.

He is survived by his three children, Michael Dudley Waters (Jamye), Judith Marie Theriot (Andy), and Steven Cecil Waters (Lori), six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was loved by his family and many friends across the country.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Charles’ memory to Germantown United Methodist Church Seekers Sunday School Class, 2331 South Germantown Road, Germantown, TN 38138.
