Bobby Olyn Langford, age 92, went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2024 while residing in Baton Rouge, LA. Bob was born in Sturgis, MS and grew up in Caledonia. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting. He was also a long-time resident of Huntsville, AL. In his professional career he was employed by the US Government, Teledyne Brown and Northrop Grumman for 29 years; finishing his career with Northrop as Chief Financial Officer for one of their divisions. During his life, he enjoyed playing golf, and reading Louis L’Amour westerns. He was a long-time member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church and West Huntsville Baptist, both in Alabama. Bob loved God and sought to serve and honor him in many ways.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Joan Kimsey Langford, his parents Samuel and Stella (Sanders) Langford and his siblings Morris Langford, Otha Langford, Dean (Langford) Yoder and the mother of his children Janice (Yeatman) Langford.
He is survived by his children Debra (Wessie) Gray, Mike (Ashley) Langford and stepson Alan Atkison, his grandchildren Tyler Gray, Erin Gray, Justin (Melinda) Langford, Jordan (Carrie) Langford, Julie (Patrick) Perrien, Blake Bercegeay, and Reece Atkison. And his great grandchildren: Noah, London, Reilly, Bryan and Madelyn Langford, Declan and Sloane Perrien, and Samuel Gray.
He was a father, brother, son, uncle, husband, nephew, grandfather, neighbor and friend. His sharp wit and big sweet smile will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held at Welch Funeral Home at 201 W. Lampkin St. ,Starkville MS, 39759 on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 with visitation starting at 11:00, and the services at 11:30am. Interment will be held privately at Maben Memorial Garden in Maben, MS.
