Ratliff- Jimmy Bruce Johnson, 85, left the home place he loved on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Sanctuary Hospice House. He was born on September 30, 1939 to Clellon Johnson and Evelyn Hendrix Johnson and married Jane Grissom on August 11, 1960. He had worked for Guntown Slacks, Rich Toys and 27 years @ Mid-South Packers and @ 14 Stone Containers. He was a very skilled carpenter and farmer. Jimmy believed that we need to work and help others if we can. He tried his best to live by the Ten Commandments.He always wanted much better for his family than he had. He was a very hardworking man, a much loved, Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He professed faith in his Lord and Savior and attended Oak Grove Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be at Waters Funeral Home on Monday, December 02, 2024 at noon with Bro. Guyton Hinds officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
He leaves his wife of 64 years, Jane Grissom Johnson; one son, Terry Dale Johnson and his wife, Barbara Weaver Johnson; two grandchildren, Haley Coker (Alex) and Alex Johnson; two step-granddaughters, Kim Callahan and Katie Miller (Justin);one brother, Ricky Johnson (Billie); brother-in-law, Joe Grissom (Arlene); nephew, Mitchell Pettigo (Ramona); special nieces that he loved as his own, Renee Manning, Lisa King and Mary Ann Garisson; his best friend, Wylie Parham, David Brown and Harlon Franks; host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Pettigo; nephew, Joey Grissom and a brother-in-law, Chester Pettigo.
Visitation will be @ Waters Funeral Home on Monday, December 02, 2024 from 11:00 a. m. until service time @ noon.
