Andrew Earl Stepp

Rep. Andrew Earl Stepp, a beloved father, son, and friend, passed away on December 5, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on June 23, 1958, in Memphis, Tennessee, Andy dedicated his life to serving his community and fostering connections with those around him. He resided in Bruce, Mississippi, where he made a lasting impact through his diverse roles and multifaceted life.

An esteemed pharmacist and the owner of Stepp Saver Pharmacy, Andy was a graduate of the University of Mississippi's Pharmacy Program. He proudly served as a preceptor for pharmacy students, sharing his knowledge and passion for the field with the next generation of healthcare professionals. His commitment to the health and well-being of his community was palpable, as he tirelessly worked to provide exceptional care to every person who walked through his pharmacy doors.

Andy's dedication extended beyond his profession. He served as a Mississippi State Representative for District 23, advocating for the needs of his constituents. He was also an active member of the Bruce Volunteer Fire Department, embodying the spirit of service and bravery. His faith was central to his life, and he was a cherished member of Bruce First Baptist Church.

Outside of his professional and community commitments, Andy possessed a vibrant personality and a love for life. He enjoyed flying airplanes and had a unique collection of socks and coins, which reflected his playful spirit. He found joy in storytelling and humor, often delighting friends and family with his favorite saying: "I'm finer than frog hair split three ways and tied in a knot!" His laughter and wit will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Andy is survived by his daughters, Andrea Stepp of Grenada, MS and Anna "Devin" Cooper of Grenada, MS; his mother, Willie Ard Stepp of Sardis, MS; his brother, Michael Stepp of Ocean Springs, MS; and five beloved grandchildren: Allyeana, Zoey, Kendall, Isabella, and Praisley. Together, they will carry his memory forward, honoring the love and laughter he brought into their lives.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a public viewing that will be held at the Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on December 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 Pm. A funeral service honoring Andy's life will take place at Bruce First Baptist Church on Saturday December 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM with Dr. Ryan Reed officiating, followed by burial at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. Current and past Members of Bruce Fire Department will be serving as pallbearers. Members of the Mississippi Legislature will be serving as honorary pallbearers.

He was preceded in death by his father,Andrew George Emanuel "Sonny" Stepp.
