Margaret Ann Dykes, 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at her home. She was born January 9, 1941, in Tupelo, to Leslie and Helen Boyd Brown. She graduated from Shannon High School. She was an inspector for Walled Lake Door for many years. She later was a convenience store cook, mostly at the Texaco on the end of Air Park Road. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, cooking for her family, and watching Mississippi State play football.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie. Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Scott Rager of Blue Springs; one daughter, Helen Waits (Eric) of Saltillo; one brother, Gerald Brown of Pontotoc; two sisters, Ruby Jewel Dillard of Mantachie and Diane Nobles of New Albany; five grandchildren, Mandi Burleson, Bailie Rager, Daniel Clouse, Margaret Clouse, and Michael Clouse; three great grandchildren, Carley Clouse, Macey Burleson, and Hayden Clouse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Edward Dykes; one daughter, Phyllis Sue Clouse; one granddaughter, Ashley Clouse; two sisters, Faye Watson and Louise Smith; and her parents.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
