Mr. Robert Lee Sasser, 71, died Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Sasser officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and again on Tuesday, prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 P.M.
Robert was born on February 2, 1954, in Germantown, Tennessee, to the late Genoa McDougal and William Gorman Sasser. He was a farmer not just by trade, but to his core. His life’s work revolved around agriculture and cattle, finding solace and fulfillment working the land and tending to livestock. Robert began his career as State Livestock Inspector in Tennessee, gaining knowledge and expertise in the field to guide other farmers and maintain the integrity of the work. Later, he worked with Superior Livestock, buying and selling cattle for himself and trusted clients. It was no surprise that in his free time he still gravitated towards the work he loved so much, attending rodeos as often as possible, appreciating the discipline and skill it takes to rope a cow, barrel race, or take on a bull ride. Robert loved cookouts and grilling for his family, enjoying many delicious steaks throughout the years. More than anything, he treasured his wife, children, and grandchildren and worked hard daily to set a fine example for them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dan Sasser.
Robert is survived by his wife, Pamela Sasser of Batesville, Mississippi; daughter, Cheryl Corzine and Zach Lee of Pontotoc, Mississippi; son, Will Sasser and his wife, Christy, of Horn Lake, Mississippi; sisters, Rebecca Carr and her husband, Bob, of Germantown, Mississippi and Susan Kress and her husband, Rob, of Olive Branch, Mississippi; brother, Billy Sasser and his wife, Connie, of Southaven, Mississippi; as well as his beloved grandchildren.
