James Lynn Hardy, 76, of Humboldt, TN, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025. Born on February 25, 1949, in Bude, MS, James lived a life marked by service, love, and passion. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, embodying the spirit of dedication and bravery that defined his generation.
James was deeply committed to his family, especially his beloved wife, Peggy Phillips Hardy of Humbolt, TN, and their daughter, Amanda (Jeff) Love of Humbolt, TN. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne "Pete" Hardy of Birmingham, AL. Together, they cherish the memories of a man who embraced life with open arms, sharing laughter and love with those around him.
James was preceded in death byhis father, James Elmo Hardy, Mary Katherine Carol Hardy, and a brother Joe Hardy.
Beyond his devotion to family, James was a man of many interests. He found joy in the great outdoors, especially while playing golf, and he nurtured his creative side through painting and playing the guitar. He was a member of Reedy's Chapel Baptist Church, he shared his faith and compassion with all who knew him, leaving a lasting impact on his community.
In honor of his life and legacy, a public viewing will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home on May 31, 2025, at 12:00 PM. This will be followed by a funeral service at the Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. James will be laid to rest at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
