Kathleen Blees Caldwell

May 22, 1944 ~ August 6, 2025

Mrs. Kathleen Blees Caldwell, 81, died Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Pontotoc Health and Rehab in Pontotoc, Mississippi. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 10:30 A.M. until 12:00 noon at Waller Funeral Home.

Kathleen was born on May 22, 1944, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to the late Florence Murgatroyd and George Blees. With a passion for education, she was a teacher for 41 years, committing her life to the many beloved students she taught throughout her life. Kathleen was on a constant pursuit of knowledge, earning her master’s degree and later winning the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science four times.

Kathleen cherished her relationship with her beloved husband, Michel, whom she would’ve celebrated 59 years of marriage with next week. Together they raised their two children, Scott and Amy. Kathleen loved to plan elaborate camping trips. Combining her love of education and the outdoors, she always made sure there was plenty to learn along the way. They traveled all over the United States and Canada, often attending Nascar races as a family. As her children grew into adults and became parents themselves, Kathleen watched with sincere pride and found great joy in her new role as a grandmother.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Michel Caldwell of Oxford, Mississippi; son, LTC (R) Scott Michel Caldwell and his wife, Susan, of Oxford, Mississippi; daughter, Amy Caldwell Moss and her husband, Matthew, of Oxford, Mississippi; brother, George Blees, Jr. and his wife, Maureen, of Oxford, Connecticut; four grandchildren, Amanda Young (Donald), Allison Champion (Hunter), Mst. Sgt. Tucker Moss (Tiffany), and Kaitlyn Robison (Reed); as well as three great-grandchildren.

The family extends a special thank you to Kathleen’s dear friend, Sheila Lewis, who’s steadfast friendship and frequent visits were deeply appreciated. They also wish to thank Vital Caring Hospice and Pontotoc Health and Rehab for the care they provided to Kathleen and the family.
