Mrs. Vicky Holland Melton, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, surrounded by her family at Oxford Health and Rehab. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Williams and Rev. Kevin Smith officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. with burial following in North Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born on May 16, 1950, to the late Henry and Hazel Carroll Holland, Vicky attended college before marrying her beloved husband, John, and starting a family. Together, they were active members of North Oxford Baptist Church and proud parents to their boys, Casey and Corey. Vicky most enjoyed days spent with her family and was overjoyed when she became a grandmother. Affectionately known as MiMi, she found great joy in spoiling her grandchildren, most importantly with her time and attention. A good day for Vicky was spent shopping or antiquing and finding new items to fill her home. She especially loved McCarty Pottery and boasted a large collection of dishes and figurines. Gathering her family or friends to share a meal was a treat to her soul and she was proud to have perfected her chicken spaghetti and banana pudding. Vicky’s warm presence will be missed by her beloved dogs, Gabby and Sis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Hugh Holland and Steve Holland.
Vicky is survived by her husband of 55 years, John E. Melton of Oxford, MS; two sons, Casey Melton and his wife, Paula of Oxford, MS and Corey Melton and his wife, Allison of Holcomb, MS; a brother, John Holland of Brunswick, TN; seven grandchildren, Hannah Melton, Jake Melton, John Lake Melton, Mary Hayden Melton, Taylor Melton, Sarah Melton and Katy Beth Grimes as well as one great grandchild, Kinston Melton.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of Oxford Health and Rehab for the excellent and professional care shown to Mrs. Melton during her time in their care.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Melton’s memory may be made to North Oxford Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1700, Oxford, MS 38655.
