Deborah Denise “Debi” Whitten Freeman

Mrs. Deborah Denise “Debi” Whitten Freeman, 71, died Monday, November 24, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Willis officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00 P.M. with burial following in Clear Creek Cemetery.

Deborah was born on January 16, 1954, to the late Robert M. and Lottie Faye Bass Whitten in Batesville, MS. Debi and her late husband of 52 years, Bobby Ford Freeman, were longtime members of St. Andrews Methodist Church. She retired after 38 years of teaching the precious children at Bramlett and Oxford Elementary. Debi’s compassion led her to volunteer her time at The Pantry to help those less fortunate. In addition, she served as state commander of the women’s auxiliary for the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include her sons, Rob Freeman (Ashley) of Oxford, MS and Whit Freeman (Taylor) of New Albany, MS; sisters, Donna Crisler of Madison, MS and Desiree Wilson of Oxford, MS; grandchildren, Donovan, Dalton, Chase, Gage, Andrew, Max, and Charlotte; great grandson, Leo Robert Freeman, and the upcoming arrivals of William Ford Freeman, due this winter, and a 3rd due in the summer of 2026. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Neal Freeman.
