Lexie Williams, Jr., 83, passed away December 21, 2025, at his daughter and son-in-law’s home in Oxford, MS.

Lexie was born on October 21, 1942, in Trimble, Tennessee to the late Lexie B. Williams and Model Yates Williams. He honorably served his country during the Vietnam Era as a Staff Sargent in the United States Air Force where he spent time in Libya, Africa and was honorably discharged.

He was a recent resident of Senatobia, MS. He previously spent many years living in Hickory, NC and Brandon, MS where he worked as an insurance agent with Aon Corporation. His family migrated from the Bootheel of Missouri in the late sixties where he spent his formative years farming alongside his father in Aberdeen, MS. Lexie graduated from Portageville High School in 1960 and graduated from Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1965.

He was a natural athlete, lettering in all four sports in high school. He had a passion for water skiing, especially barefoot style. His love for Elvis and his impersonations never went unnoticed and he enjoyed watching old black and white movies. He never missed the latest streaming series like Landman and Yellowstone and his all-time go to was Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

In addition to his parents, Lexie is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Daniel Williams and his sisters Doris Jean Williams Flores of Memphis, Tennessee and Martha Ann Downing of Arlington, Tennessee.

Lexie is survived by his son, Matthew Yates Williams of Newport Beach, California; his daughter, Elizabeth Williams Duncan and her husband, Jeff of Alexandria, Virginia; his sister, Linda Williams Thomen; his former wife, Mary Fisher Williams of Oxford, Mississippi and his nephew, James Mark Downing and his wife, Ginny of Germantown, Tennessee.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Father Tim Murphy officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
