Ann Marie Baker Russell

Mrs. Ann Marie Baker Russell, age 90, died Sunday, March 14, 2026, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 18th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Eakes officiating. Graveside service will follow at Vaughn Cemetery in Abbeville, MS. Visitation will be on Wednesday prior to the service beginning at 12:30 PM.

Mrs. Russell was born on September 9, 1935, in Abbeville to the late George Patton Baker and Bessie Tidwell Baker. Ann loved the Lord, her family, and all the children she cared for over the years. She enjoyed cooking, being surrounded by friends and family, and, in recent years, playing bingo and reading her Bible to fellow residents at Oxford Heath and Rehab. While she worked in several factories, her greatest joy was babysitting.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Russell preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Lawrence “Buddy” Russell, one son, Timmy Russell and one brother, Thomas Baker.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Lute of Abbeville, MS, her sons, Paul Russell and his wife, Reba of Abbeville, MS and John Russell of Abbeville, her brother, Fed Baker of Savannah, TN, ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.
