Mrs. Genevieve Abby, 80, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at her home in Myrtle, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church (6300 Highway 178, Hickory Flat, MS, 38633). A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m., also at Faith Baptist Church. Bro. Tommy Wilder will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Abby was born in Marion, IL, to the late Lloyd and Eunice Chancy. Mrs. Abby was a very involved member in Eastern Star. She also loved to travel and see what a beautiful country that God has created. Mrs. Abby was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by her loving friends and family.
Mrs. Abby is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Eddie) Benefield of TN, and Lisa (Jerry “Huck”) Childers of MS; one son, Jack (Lesia) Abby of MS; two sisters, Sandra Earle of IL, and Debbie (Walter) Morris of KS; three granddaughters, Anne (Tucker) Little, Kaitlyn (Matt) Rappa, and Jessica Thomas, all of MS; three grandsons, Will Benefield of TN, Kyle (Megan) Childers and Kirk (Mallary) Childers, both of MS; five great-granddaughters, Mandi Little, Lena Childers, Kylie Childers, Cadyn Rappa, and Collins Rappa, all of MS; two great-grandsons, John Little and Greyson Floyd both of MS.
Mrs. Abby was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dave Abby, and her parents, Lloyd Chancy and Eunice M. Kirkland.
Donations and memorials in honor of Mrs. Abby may be made to Faith Baptist Church (6300 Highway 178, Hickory Flat, MS, 38633).
