Mary Wilson Newell, 70, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020, at her residence in Byhalia, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 26, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a funeral service following at 6:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. (6815 Parkview Blvd., Olive Branch) Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch is in charge of the arrangements.
Mary was born on December 19, 1949, in Wichita, KS. Mary was a dedicated 911 dispatcher for the city of Olive Branch for many years and when she wasn't serving the citizens of the community, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary Newell is survived by her daughters, Michele (Mike) Summers of Byhalia and Daniele (David) Smith of Byhalia; sisters, Charma (Larry) Quinalty of Wichita, KS and Lynda (Scott) King of Burgaw, NC; brother, Charles Wilson of Burgaw; grandson, Taylor (Brianna) Summers; granddaughter, Katlynn (Chase) Ramey; grandsons, Jobb Torres and JJ Smith; granddaughter, Layla Smith; great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Summers and great-grandson Wyatt Summers, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Elizabeth and Charles William Wilson.
