Jerry Allen Hester (58) passed away Tuesday March 31, 2020 at his sons home in Baldwyn after an extended illness. He was born east of Guntown off Hushpuppy road June 12,1961 to Prater (Duke) and Bernice Hester. He worked his entire life mostly for Coca Cola, 45 auto parts and B&B Concrete. He loved to drink beer, play dominoes, Ole Miss football and he loved to play with his granddaughter, Erin Summer Hester.
Services will be 12:00 noon Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Hassell officiating. Burial will be in the Unity Cemetery.
Survivors include his sons, Nathan Hester (Mindy) of Baldwyn and Jeremy Fowler of New Albany; his daughter, Glenda Patterson of Tremont; his grandchildren, Erin Summer Hester, Gabby Clayton, Gavin Patterson, Cooper Patterson and Gracie; a very special niece, Julia Taylor (Keith) of Booneville; his brother, Delton Hester of Palmetto; his sisters, Velma Dirtinger of Saltillo and Marie Mayben (Tim) of Baldwyn and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother; Julia Baker, his grandfather; Jim Hester, his brother; Dewey Lee Hester, his sister; Cathrine Ruth Cole, his uncle; Charlie Dewey Baker, a special nephew; Coy Cole and a very special sister; Shirley Ann Fugitt. Pallbearers will be; Keith Taylor, Kasey Taylor, Wade White, Tim and Ricky Mayben. Honorary pallbearers will be; Nathan Hester and Jeremy Hester.
Visitation will be from 10 am until service time Thursday.
