Shirley Price

February 7, 1938 – April 15, 2020

Shirley Temple Childers Buchanan Price, 82, gained her Heavenly home on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center—Gilmore in Amory. Born on February 7, 1938 she was a daughter to James Arville and Nora Lee Welch Childers. Shirley attended Wren schools and earned a business degree from Itawamba Community College. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the family furniture business and later became the hostess for Tombigbee State Park. Shirley was a member of Wren Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and led the music for many years for VBS. In addition to being a member of the Eastern Star, she also was an avid reader and loved to sew. Her favorite sport was ice skating and would be quick to tell you Michelle Kwan was the best. Shirley loved working in her yard tending to her plants but more than anything she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be on Saturday at the Amory Historical Cemetery. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
