Mother Dorothy Pryor, 88, transitioned on Monday, July 13, 2020 at her residence in Waterford, MS. She was born on October 6, 1931 to the late Steporia Pryor and Robert Reed.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Hope M.B. Church, where she served on the Missionary, Usher and Mother Board. She was also a member of the Women's Home Improvement Society.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories a daughter: Valine (Oscar) James of Holly Springs, MS; a son: Lynell Pryor of Laws Hill, MS; two step-children: Sandra (David) Williams of Oxford, MS and Dwight (Emma) Pryor of Houston, TX; Seventeen grandchildren (three of them whom she raised as her own); Janice M. (Bobby) Brown of Memphis, TN, Vickie Pryor of Robinsonville, MS and Johnell Pryor, Jr., of New Albany, MS; Sixteen great-grandchildren (three of which she raised as her own); Nikita, Jasmine and Jessica; Eleven great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law: Georgia Pryor of Aurora, IL; a sister-in-law: Opatria Pryor of Laws Hill, MS; three sisters: Alfreda Deberry, Dianh Terry and Leola Jefferson of Memphis, TN; three brothers: Robert Reed, James Reed and Joseph Reed of Victoria, MS; Six god-children: Ora L. Mitchell of Laws Hill, MS, Anna Mitchell of Holly Springs, MS, Sally Thompson of Oxford, MS, Rosie Clayborn of Aberdeen, TX, Sweetie Wooten and Shirley Pitts of Byhalia, MS; One aunt: Nancy Hickman of Des Moines, IA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 11a.m. at New Hope M.B. Church Cemetery in Laws Hill. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 4-6p.m. at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs.
