PONTOTOC – Thurman Leroy McCain, 84, passed away September 20, 2020 at his home. Leroy loved his family, friends, and anyone he ever came in contact with. He would sit and talk to anyone about any and everything. He was definitely a talker and loved to pick at people. He loved going to auctions and finding bargains and would trade anything especially pocket knives. He also loved going fishing, paying checkers, cards and riding around looking at scenery. He was also very passionate about his grandkids, great grandkids and would light up every time he saw them.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Betty McCain; one son, Ricky McCain(Gail) of Pontotoc; six daughters, Twanda Britt(Phillip) of Pontotoc, Eugina Skidmore(Dale) of Pontotoc, Karen King(Bart) of Georgia, Rose Navarrete(Winston) of Thaxton, Lisa McCain of Pontotoc, and Sherry Self(B.J.) of Pontotoc; 20 grandkids; 25 great grandkids; and 1 great great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack McCain; mother, Carrie McCain; brother, Herman McCain; 2 sisters, Merle Cox and Myrtis Gordon; and 1 granddaughter, Angel Faith King.
Service will be Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 2PM at Lighthouse Apostolic Church with Bro. Buddy Gordon and Bro. David Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chandler Tutor, Will Self, Bradley Self, Jayden McCain, Travis Barre, and Edward Gordon.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Gordon, Anthony Gordon, Nathan Terry, Winston Navarrete, Hunter, and Carrie.
Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 5-8PM and Tuesday, September 22, 12PM until service time, all at the church.
