Gwendolyn Brown Mills peacefully went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2021. She was born on September 15, 1937 in Bay Springs, MS.
Gwen worked at Mississippi State University, Army ROTC, for 32 years and took great pride in being part of the military family. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and taking care of her family. She also loved her church family at Fellowship Baptist Church in Starkville.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Mills; her niece, Jan Wells; and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Mills; parents, I. H. and Mary Brown, and sister, Edna Earle Wells. The family would like to express their gratitude to Kindred Hospice nurses Lorena and Wendy; and special extended family Wilda Collier, Ethel Johnson, Aretha Jordan, Wanda McGee and Carolyn Fowler for always being there, no matter what.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 11:00 in Carthage, MS at the Wiggins Methodist Church cemetery, Hwy 16 West.
