Voncille H. Graham passed away on July 7, 2021 at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home after a brief illness with cancer at the age of 82.
Voncille was born on August 30, 1938 in Columbus, GA to her late parents, William and Agnes Hightower. Before her children were born she worked for the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Co. in Columbus, GA. After her children were born Voncille was a devoted homemaker and mother. In 1980 she began her work in public service as secretary and court clerk to Judge Dan Moreland and for 19 years as Oktibbeha County Justice Court Clerk. She loved her job, was an avid reader and adored her grandchildren.
Voncille is survived by her daughter, Donna (Bobby) Shurden and her son Ross (Karen) Graham; grandchildren, Jordan (Madison) Graham and Melissa (Jason) McMillian; brother Bill (Brenda) Hightower; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Quality Hospice Care, Winston Medical Center Nursing Home, and Montgomery Gardens for their wonderful care and concern.
A graveside service for friends and family will be held Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Garden Park Cemetery in Starkville. Larnzy Carpenter will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Voncille H. Graham.
