Bernice Cannon Isby

Mrs. Bernice Cannon Isby, 63, transitioned on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, New Albany, MS.

Bernice Cannon Isby was born November 15, 1958 to Mary Elizabeth Cannon and George Dozier. She departed this life August 10, 2022.

Bernice was a graduate of W.P. Daniel High School, class of 1977. She furthered her education at Northeast Community college and MS State University. She was employed at the Northeast MS Women's Hospital, Tupelo, MS until her health declined.

Bernice was joined in matrimony to Robert Isby September 24. 1994. He preceded her in death.

In her leisure time she loved reading, music, writing, and being with family and friends.

Bernice is survived by her mother: Mary Elizabeth Cannon and father, George Dozier, two stepsons: Roderick Isby and Blake Kennedy, two sisters: Doris Cannon and Cathy Clemmer, brothers: Dennis Cannon (Catherine). Rickey Cannon (Brenda). Gary Cannon, Dwayne Cannon, Greg Cannon, Melvin Cannon and George Stacy, sisters-in-law: Catherine Brandon, Brenda Isby, Sue Isby, brothers-in-law: Michael Isby, June Berry (Jannie) and Bobby Berry, a host of special nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her presence daily. She is preceded in death by her husband: Robert and step-son: Raphael Sykes.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 20, 2022, 9:00 a.m., and Service will begin at 11:00 a.m., at New Birth Community Church, 614 Glade Ave., New Albany, MS.

Burial will take place at Porter's Memorial Garden, in Tupelo, MS.

Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany, MS, is in charge of  arrangements.
