Ollie Pinson

April 17, 1943 ~ October 18, 2022 (age 79)

Ollie Mae Pinson was born April 17, 1943 to the late Henry D. Pinson and Noble Lee Berry in Pontotoc County.  Ollie attended Belden High School. She worked at The Little Sisters of the Poor for the entirety of her career in Kansas City, Missouri, where she lived for the majority of her life, moving there from Mississippi as a young woman.

Ollie accepted Christ at an early age and attended Chapel Grove Holiness Church where she got saved under the leadership of the late Bishop Dr. G.T. Howell. She later joined Banister Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dwight E. Scott. After moving back home, she joined Mount Pleasant Chesterville M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Henry Vaughn, where she remained until death.

Ollie was the loving mother of four children. She was known to be the life of the party and enjoyed having fun. She loved cooking good food, crossword puzzles, socializing and was an avid shopper. She watched her favorite soap operas daily. She had an infectious smile that could light up any room. Ollie enjoyed her retirement to the fullest.

Ollie transitioned from her earthly life on October 18, 2022. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Ollie leaves to celebrate her life and legacy, two daughters: Jackie Butler and Shan Pinson, ten grandchildren: Javonta Pulliam, Jatasia Glover, Marshaun Pinson, Kenie Roach, Kamille Thompson, Teairra Cummings, Talisha Cummings, James Gregory Cummings, Taegon Black and Nina Dawson, nine great-grandchildren: Tyler Chase, Zayne Chase, Malachi Conely, Gabe David King, Grayson Alexander Pinson, Kenady Pinson, Paislee Pinson, Kinsley Pinson and Daunte Pinson, four brothers, Henry (Jeanette) Pinson, Preston Pinson, Ray (Willie Esther) Satterwhite and James Satterwhite, three sisters: Eloise Vortice, Ethel (James) Jones, and Minnie Pearl Tralor.

Ollie was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Jeffery Cummings and Gregory Cummings, one brother: James Pinson, two sisters: Della Hill Stuckey and Sarah Pinson Mays, three nephews: Donny Pinson, Tony Hill and Don Hill.

A Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant Church located at 242 Revival Rd, Belden, MS. Visitation will be on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 4-6 PM at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo Chapel. The Repass will be Saturday, October 29, 2022 beginning at 4 PM at Holland Funeral Directors located at 5281 Cliff Gookin Blvd, Tupelo, MS 38801.
