Teresa Wood

Teresa Bevill Wood, 84, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at her home. She was born November 25, 1938 in Pontotoc to Culley and Thelma Zinn Bevill.

Teresa graduated from Pontotoc High School in 1956 and then went on to graduate from Blue Mountain College and The University of Mississippi. She was a dedicated educator and administrator for the Pontotoc City School District for many years. Her greatest accomplishment, however, was being a mother and “Nan-Nan”. She took great joy in knowing she was going to Heaven as one of the chosen elect (Romans 8:30).

She is survived by her 3 children, Mitchell Wood (Tonya), Starr Brown (Ross), Robin Seale (Lawrence), all of Pontotoc; 4 grandchildren, Ali Carnes (Adam), Bryan Wood (Tiffany), Zachary Seales and Matthew Seale, all of Pontotoc; 4 great-grandchildren, Culley Ann and Neeley Ross Carnes and Jon-Boone and Charlie-Mac Wood; nephew, Wade Shrader (Carol) and 4 great nieces and nephews, all of Delaware; and special friend, Judy Fooshee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Culley and Thelma Zinn Bevill and her sister, Marsha Bevill Shrader.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 6 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 12 to 1 PM, at Browning Funeral Home. Services will be on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 1:00 PM, at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc. A private family graveside service will follow, in the Pontotoc City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Wood, Ross Brown, Lawrence Seale, Adam Carnes, Bryan Wood and Zachary Seales.
