Listen to this obituary

Timothy Lee Jackson, 56, left to be with his Lord on the morning of Friday, February 10. He fought a long, difficult, inspiring 2 1/2 year battle against ALS, during which he displayed unwavering courage, love, and humor. Through his strength, Timothy encouraged those he cherished to live everyday and have no regrets.

He was intelligent, witty, funny, loving, kind, committed. He never did anything halfway. He engaged fully in every conversation, in every event, in every meal, in every activity. He loved to travel, and even had three international trips planned and booked when the world quit spinning due to COVID. He lacked only one continent to complete his goal of seeing all 7 but had a plan to check that one off his list too.

He was never happier than when he brought a smile or a laugh to those around him. He was an avid music junky, a voracious reader, a wine connoisseur, especially Sauvignon Blanc and Champagne, and a savorer of food, Indian and Italian topping that list. He loved to cook and worked to perfect everything he made.

Timothy is survived by his devoted wife, his best friend, his confidant, Kelli, who was with him every step of the journey through that devastating disease. He is also survived by his mother, Pat Wall Jackson, two sisters, Terri (Michael) Binns and Kim (Chuck) Hathcock.

Timothy is preceded in death by his father, Joe Jackson.

His life will be celebrated and honored on Saturday, February 18, at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, beginning with a visitation at 1:00 pm, followed immediately by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm. A second Celebration of Timothy will be held in Houston, TX, in late March. Dates, times, location to be provided at a later date.
