Mrs. Ellen Clarice Pierce Lewis, 93, died Sunday, May 7, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Richland, MS. The funeral will be Friday, May 12, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Frierson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery.
Mrs. Lewis was born on October 6, 1929, in Oxford, MS, to the late U.T. and Clytie Campbell Pierce. She worked for Kellwood sewing factory for most of her life, and maintained her love for sewing and making things outside of work. For around 34 years, Mrs. Lewis lived in Licking, MO where she had a wonderful community of friends. While in Oxford, she was a beloved member of Springdale Baptist Church. Mrs. Lewis was full of life, always down for a day spent shopping and walking around the mall, and frequented her favorite casinos for fun. She loved her family deeply, spending as much time as possible with her children, grandchildren, and great-grands, and was filled with great pride watching each generation flourish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Eugene Lewis; two daughters, Jenece Stepp and Kaye Stepp; her son, David White; and her brothers, William Lyles Pierce and James R. Pierce.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughters, Ruby Stewart of Friendswood, TX and Lynn Gipson and her husband, Mike of Richland, MS; her son, Bobby White and his wife, Tab of Horn Lake, MS; as well as 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 35 great-great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-great-grandchildren.
