Tommy Gamble
Baldwyn- Thomas (Tommy) Edward Gamble 76, died Tuesday, May 16 at his home. He was born in Baldwyn, MS and lived his entire life there. He graduated from Baldwyn High School in 1965. He graduated from Delta State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1971.
He was the first manager at Farmers and Merchants Bank in Marietta from 1971-1978. In 1978, he joined Union Bankers Insurance Company and later Tommy Gamble Insurance Agency.
He was a member of Hillcrest church of Christ in Baldwyn.
Tommy loved life, his family, his friends and especially his five grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf.
He is survived by his daughter Amy Gamble Crane (Scott); son Mark Edward Gamble (Alisha); 5 grandchildren Katie Crane Boren (Daniel), Ashley Crane Carmichael (Ethan), Lawson Phillips Gamble, Meg Madison Gamble and Gavin Rowland Gamble; one brother James Sumpter Gamble Tupelo; sister-in-law Roberta Rowland Compton Tuscaloosa, AL; nieces, Julia Ashley Compton Mountain Brook, AL, Millie Gamble Dyson (Andy), Amanda Gamble Wood (Justin) and Alaina Gamble;
Special friend Peggy Byrd; Tommy was blessed by a wonderful group of caregivers, Donna Coats, Jenny Adams, Michelle Floyd, Jessica Floyd, Dee Worley, and Debbie Kitchens.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Melba Rowland Gamble, his parents Boyce and Margie Enis Gamble, infant sister Linda Ellen Gamble and an infant brother David Gullett Gamble, and brother Frank Timothy Gamble
Funeral services will be at Waters Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 a. m. with Bro. Tim Childs officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Waters Funeral Home from 5:00 – 8:00 p. m.
