William Keith “Smitty” Smithson was born November 5th, 1963 in Bruce, MS to William Boyd and Linda Carol Smithson.
Keith passed away comfortably surrounded by his loved ones at the Baptist Hospital in Oxford, Ms. Keith spent 10 years faithfully fighting through his cancer diagnosis. Not one time did he ever waiver in his very vocal love for God, his love for everyone around him, nor did he let it take his joy away from living everyday to the fullest.
Keith was a graduate of Bruce High School, class of 1982. He was a loyal member to Concord Baptist Church, where he spent countless hours praising the Lord. Keith was well known for his large smile, jolly laugh, great dance moves, and his endless love for everyone. He was also commonly known to be carrying around a big glass of sweet tea, everywhere he went. He never let anyone leave without making sure they knew how much they were loved by not only him but God as well. He was a true servant of the Lord who would do anything for anyone, not wanting a single thing in return. He spent most of his days on earth behind a steering wheel, whether it be that of a big truck, a race car, a pick up truck, a lawn mower, or a four wheeler. He was an avid deer hunter, nascar fan, and over all jack of all trades.
With all of the love he had to give, he leaves behind many people who will miss him dearly. He is survived by: his father William Smithson (Bruce, MS); Siblings, Jeanine (Chris) Ritchie (Bruce, MS), and Stephen Smithson (Olive Branch, MS); the mother of his children, Melinda Smithson (his Mama Mel); Children, William Casey (Angelin) Smithson (Bruce, MS), and Keri Leila (Benji) Haire (Bruce, MS); Grand Daughters, Layla Marie, Chloe Leila, and Jasey Reigh Smithson; Grand Sons, James Braxton and Liam Keith Haire. Along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces, and friends.
Waiting on him in heaven was his Mother Linda Carol Smithson; Twin Sisters Janice Carol and Jeffanie Ann; Grandparents, Morris Elvis Dunn SR., Dessie Dunn, Leila Jenkins, James Bradford and Helen Mae Smithson.
