Florene Allen Coleman, 83, of Sturgis, MS went to be with her Lord on June 7, 2023. She was born in 1940 to R.D. Allen and Margaret Allen in Monticello, MS. In 1956, she married her one true love, William Lavelle Coleman. Florene worked at Garan Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville, MS and a devoted wife and mother who loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She not only raised four children, but helped raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Florene is survived by her four children: Mike (Janet) of Nashville, TN, Judy of Sturgis, MS, Marsha (David) Butler of Sturgis, MS, Rodney (Rhonda) of Sturgis, MS; 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lavelle Coleman; her parents, R.D. and Margaret Allen; 5 brothers; 3 sisters; and one great granddaughter, Ava Grace Bailey.
Visitation will be at Meadowview Baptist Church, 300 Linden Circle, Starkville, MS, on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following. Rev. Jason Middleton will conduct the service. Burial will be in Craig Springs Cemetery in Sturgis, MS.
